Tülin ARSLANPINAR-April 18 World Cultural Heritage Day

ICOMOS decided in 1982 to celebrate April 18 as International Monuments and Sites Day. At the 22nd General Conference of UNESCO held in the following year, today's celebration was approved. Since then, April 18 has become a special day in which cultural heritage is introduced and celebrated. Thus, an opportunity has been created to increase awareness of the diversity, vulnerability, necessity and protection of cultural heritage. Every year, ICOMOS proposes a theme for celebrations and activities to be organized by national committees and international scientific committees or other institutions wishing to participate. We will carry out our project activities according to the theme of 2020.
